Following from it's successful theater run, 'The Casement Project' has collaborated with COCO Television to produce 'I'm Roger Casement' a short dance film that explores the life of Roger Casement.
Choreographer Fearghus Ó Conchúir worked with acclaimed director Dearbhla Walsh to create the piece - about the Irish revolutionary, British knight and international humanitarian. Shot on location on Banna Strand, the film creatively explores the connection between Casement’s crossing of identity borders, his political life and his physical openness to the erotic stranger.
Speaking about the film's television premiere, Fearghus ÓConchúir said:
"Because I believe in what dance has to offer to a wider public, it’s important for me to find ways to reach an audience beyond our important but smaller familiar dance constituency. Broadcast provides that opportunity. The film also gives The Casement Project a way of continuing to reach people through online streaming and other screenings"
The short film will air on RTÉ One Television at 11:10pm on Tuesday the 17th of January and will be available to watch on the RTÉ Player following broadcast.
