Desperate Houses Returns to TV Screens After 10 Years

June 12, 2017

Desperate Houses is coming back. After 10 years, the popular RTÉ One series will be returning to TV screens across Ireland, as we set out to find six houses in need of a long overdue revamp. We're currently looking for the owners of the country's most cluttered homes to apply for the upcoming season, with applications now being accepted online.

The last series of Desperate Houses, which kicked off in 2007, saw the Desperate Houses team turn up on the doorsteps of some of Ireland's untidiest homes, where we offered our skills in redecorating and refurbishing - turning their homes from grim to glam. This season, we're back looking to find Ireland's most desperate hoarders to give the Desperate Houses treatment - transforming their most chaotic rooms into spaces they can be proud to call home. This year, we've teamed up with IKEA Ireland to help bring that famous clean, Swedish style to Ireland's messiest homes.

If you think your home is in desperate need of a makeover, apply online by filling out an application form here. Whether you're living on your own, as a family or with a group of friends, we're looking for the right homes to take over and transform, so if you're up to your eyes with clutter, give us a shout.

Ten years is a lot of time for clutter to build up, so it looks like we'll have our work cut out for us this year, but we can’t wait to get started!
